Summer Trail Stewardship Day – 5 Oaks

August 22 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Hey Trail Volunteers!  Thanks for your interest in a summer trail day.  We’re checking in with the Rangers and checking out the trails and will have a location determined soon. Hope you can join us.  This is a private event for our current trail volunteers.  Join Alan and PaulaI for some FUN, hard work.

Whatever your skill level is, there is a job to do: clearing and improving drains; trimming back brush; spreading native seed; naturalizing impacted areas and caching dirt. We will be using provided tools such as loppers, picks, shovels, and McLeods.Hiking is part of the experience and depending on the trail work can be 3 – 4 miles.

Our design goals are to keep users ON the trail and get water OFF the trail to reduce impacts to our precious wilderness parks.  Ages 16 and up with parent permission (a form is required to be signed by a parent or guardian prior to starting the hike and can be downloaded here: www.lagunacanyon.org/waiver). Snacks will be served and parking passes will be available. Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and sun protection.  Bring at least 2 liters of water.

Eligibility: 18 years of age or older. 17 years of age with signed waiver from parents. Volunteers aged 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Children under the age of 16 are not eligible for this event.

Event details may change due to weather and other factors.
