Join OC Parks naturalists on a family-friendly trek around Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park to learn all about these amazing animals who have perfected the art of ecological specialization. Insects may have a reputation for being icky\, but in fact\, they are essential pollinators who are needed to sustain life on our planet.  \n\n\n\nAge: All ages welcome. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Aliso & Wood Canyons Visitor Center\, Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park (28373 Alicia Parkway\, Laguna Niguel\, CA 92677)  \n\n\n\nParking: $3/car at Aliso & Wood Canyons Visitor Center. SUMMARY:Bats: Heroes of the Night
DESCRIPTION:As the day starts to settle into night at Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park\, bats awaken and stir. Come hear fascinating tales of our flying mammals. We will spend time near the picnic tables hearing stories about our little heroes’ nighttime adventures. We will then take a short walk to see our bats begin their evening of hunting for insects. Be prepared to walk about 1/2 mile.  \n\n\n\nAge: 6 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Aliso & Wood Canyons Visitor Center\, Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park (28373 Alicia Parkway\, Laguna Niguel\, CA 92677). Meet at the picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot.  \n\n\n\nParking: $3/car at Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park parking lot. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged.  \n\n\n\nDifficulty Rating: 1/5   \n\n\n\nMaterials: Participants must bring water and wear closed-toed shoes. Please dress appropriately for the weather\, including spending a limited amount of time outside after dark. DESCRIPTION:Do you want to unplug and relax in nature?  Join Laguna Canyon Foundation Volunteers on a guided walk to experience the outdoors in a new way and allow your natural sense of wonder to take you to a mindful space outside.  \n\n\n\nWe will walk less than 1 mile on relatively flat terrain and take stops along the way to engage in playful activities and mindfulness exercises to deepen our connection with the natural environment and ourselves. Our walk will end with a tea ceremony focused on reciprocity\, a segue from the special\, quiet space we share on our walk\, back to the busy world.  \n\n\n\nDisclaimer: This program involves drinking tea. If you have food allergies or sensitivities\, please be sure to notify the program leader upon arrival.  \n\n\n\nAge: 10 or older. This guided\, 5-mile hike with minimal elevation gain invites participants to explore the natural world in both English and Spanish\, fostering connection\, curiosity\, and community.  \n\n\n\nAcompaña a Laguna Canyon Foundation en una caminata guiada en el Parque Natural Aliso y Wood Canyons. DESCRIPTION:Join Laguna Canyon Foundation Volunteer naturalists in partnership with OC Parks to enjoy an easy\, 2.5-mile Family Hike over moderate but uneven terrain (45-ft. elevation gain). Starting at the James Dilley Preserve\, we will hike one of the most diverse areas of Laguna Coast Wilderness Park to Barbara’s Lake and back.   \n\n\n\nAge: 6 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: James Dilley Preserve\, Laguna Coast Wilderness Park (I-5 or 405 south to 133 south to stoplight at 73 toll road; and make a U-turn\, go 1 block. Dilley is on the right.) \n\n\n\nParking: $3/car at James Dilley Preserve parking lot. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged.  \n\n\n\nDifficulty Rating: 2/5   \n\n\n\nMaterials: Participants must bring plenty of water\, closed-toed shoes\, and sun protection.
