DESCRIPTION:Join OC Park naturalists for story time and short hike with your little ones (ages 3-6) as we explore chemistry! We will think about how chemistry affects biology\, make a fun science craft\, and play with ooblek! \n\n\n\nAge: 3-6 year olds. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Nix Nature Center\, Laguna Coast Wilderness Park (18751 Laguna Canyon Road\, Laguna Beach 92651\, East side of Laguna Canyon Rd/SR-133).   \n\n\n\nParking: $3/car at Nix Nature Center parking lot. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged.   \n\n\n\nDifficulty Rating: 1/5    \n\n\n\nMaterials: Participants must bring plenty of water\, closed-toed shoes\, and sun protection.   \n\n\n\nSafety precautions and protocols:    \n\n\n\n\nAdvanced registration  required. Every individual\, including children\, must be registered.   \n\n\n\n\n\nGroup sizes are minimized for safety purposes. DESCRIPTION:Do you want to unplug and relax in nature?  Join Laguna Canyon Foundation Volunteers on a guided walk to experience the outdoors in a new way and allow your natural sense of wonder to take you to a mindful space outside.  \n\n\n\nWe will walk less than 1 mile on relatively flat terrain and take stops along the way to engage in playful activities and mindfulness exercises to deepen our connection with the natural environment and ourselves. Our walk will end with a tea ceremony focused on reciprocity\, a segue from the special\, quiet space we share on our walk\, back to the busy world.  \n\n\n\nDisclaimer: This program involves drinking tea. If you have food allergies or sensitivities\, please be sure to notify the program leader upon arrival.  \n\n\n\nAge: 10 or older. Perfect for first-time visitors\, new volunteers\, or anyone who wants to feel more at home in the coastal canyons.  \n\n\n\nThis is an easy-paced hike to Barbara’s Lake from the Nix Nature Center\, climbing Edison trail to an overlook of the lake and mountain views (approximately 3 miles\, minimal elevation gain). This trail is a very popular trail for families and hikers that want to visit the only natural lake in Orange County\, Barbara’s Lake.  \n\n\n\nAge: 12 or older.
