DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate National Public Lands Day! \n\n\n\nDo you dig plants? If so\, join Laguna Canyon Foundation for a morning of creating healthier habitats at the 18-acre Berns Canyon Preserve! LCF volunteers and staff will work together on various stewardship activities\, including hand-weeding non-native plants\, hand watering\, seed collection\, and planting. No experience is necessary\, and all are welcome to come learn and tend to these habitats together. All tools are provided for volunteers.  \n\n\n\nAge: 16 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.    \n\n\n\nLocation: Laguna Canyon Foundation Headquarters (10 Phillips St. Laguna Beach\, CA 92651\, East side of Laguna Canyon Rd/SR-133). This location is on a small street at the Berns Canyon Preserve. \n\n\n\nParking: Free parking for Land Tending volunteers at LCF Headquarters. SUMMARY:Trail Stewardship - Car Wreck
DESCRIPTION:If you use the Wilderness Parks for hiking\, biking\, photography or just relaxing\, Trail Work might be right up your alley! Get up close and personal with the trails you use; you’ll see them in a whole new way. No experience necessary. This is FUN hard work. Whatever your skill level is\, there is a job to do: clearing drains to get the water off the trail\, pruning vegetation back to keep users on the trail\, moving dirt to rebuild eroded tread\, and restoring impacted areas are just some of the tasks we will accomplish. We will be using tools such as loppers\, picks\, shovels\, and McLeod’s to improve the user experience\, protect the fragile habitat and increase the sustainability of our trails. Expect to hike up to 4 miles while carrying tools.   \n\n\n\nAge: 16 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Hollyleaf cul-de-sac\, Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. (Where West Ridge Trail meets Hollyleaf\, near 65 Hollyleaf\, Aliso Viejo\, CA 92656).  \n\n\n\nParking: Free neighborhood street parking. Please park responsibly and respectfully. DESCRIPTION:If you use the Wilderness Parks for hiking\, biking\, photography or just relaxing\, Trail Work might be right up your alley! Get up close and personal with the trails you use; you’ll see them in a whole new way. No experience necessary. This is FUN hard work. Whatever your skill level is\, there is a job to do: clearing drains to get the water off the trail\, pruning vegetation back to keep users on the trail\, moving dirt to rebuild eroded tread\, and restoring impacted areas are just some of the tasks we will accomplish. We will be using tools such as loppers\, picks\, shovels\, and McLeod’s to improve the user experience\, protect the fragile habitat and increase the sustainability of our trails. Expect to hike up to 4 miles while carrying tools.   \n\n\n\nAge: 16 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Hollyleaf cul-de-sac\, Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. Get up close and personal with the trails you use; you’ll see them in a whole new way. No experience necessary. This is FUN hard work. Whatever your skill level is\, there is a job to do: clearing drains to get the water off the trail\, pruning vegetation back to keep users on the trail\, moving dirt to rebuild eroded tread\, and restoring impacted areas are just some of the tasks we will accomplish. We will be using tools such as loppers\, picks\, shovels\, and McLeod’s to improve the user experience\, protect the fragile habitat and increase the sustainability of our trails. Expect to hike up to 4 miles while carrying tools.   \n\n\n\nAge: 16 or older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   \n\n\n\nLocation: Canyon View Staging Area\, Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
