The Conservation Specialist will work closely with the Conservation Project Manager, Conservation Director, other Laguna Canyon Foundation staff, land managers, regulatory agencies, neighbors and other partners and stakeholders to coordinate and implement fuel modification and other conservation projects.
The Conservation Technician will report to the Conservation Coordinator and will work closely with the rest of the Laguna Canyon Foundation staff, volunteers, landowners, and partners to implement a variety of field-based projects. Typical work hours are Monday – Friday 7 am – 3:30 pm. Occasionally will be asked to work evenings and/or weekends.
The Field Coordinator will work closely with Laguna Canyon Foundation staff to implement projects and programs in the Conservation department and collaborate with staff from the Education & Outreach and Trails department. This position will supervise the Conservation Field Crew and coordinate their work.
Laguna Canyon Foundation’s Field Educators support the goals and objectives of the organization by bringing awareness of and engagement with the open space to local Title I elementary school students. Throughout the school year, Laguna Canyon Foundation will host approximately 50 field trips, during which each field instructor will lead a grade-specific educational hike for approximately 15 students and their teachers and chaperones.
The trail technician will report to the trails project manager and will work closely with others on the Laguna Canyon Foundation (LCF) staff, volunteers, land managers, and partners to implement a variety of trail-based projects. The technician will primarily conduct trail work and be considered part of LCF’s trails program but will periodically assist the conservation program. Typical work weeks are Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00am to 3:30 pm. Occasionally the trail technician will be asked to work evenings or overtime.
