Grant Sles is a Field Educator with a passion for inspiring the next generation of land stewards, making the outdoors more accessible to underrepresented communities, and a lifelong love for Laguna Canyon. He has spent countless days hiking, mountain biking, and admiring the beauty of the South Coast Wilderness and is excited to share his knowledge of this special place with others. As a former urban planner, Grant is well aware of the effects that sprawling development has had on natural habitats and the importance of conserving them. He believes that the first step in protecting these places is to reconnect people with the natural world that we are all a part of. Prior to joining the LCF team, Grant spent the summer restoring habitat and repairing trails in the Inyo National Forest, leading tours and volunteer events at the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach, and working with local communities to restore a formerly logged section of the Peruvian Amazon.
